“Here is a way to identify “good” protein sources. Protein grams should be more than double the fat grams plus the carb grams. That means most of the calories are coming from protein. “Good” in quotes because this doesn’t mean all your protein grams have to come this way. But, if you not leaning out with lots of bacon and almond butter protein grams, here’s a reason why.

As for anything in the dairy category… it depends. There are lots of great plain no-fat or some-fat variations, but it starts to look more like a carb or fat source once it’s flavored, non-dairy, and/or cream-like.” – EC Synkowski
