Today’s workout is a Hero WOD. This WOD is in honor of Australian Army Sergeant Brett Wood, 32, of Ferntree Gully, Victoria, assigned to the 2nd Commando Regiment, based in Sydney, New South Wales, died on May 23, 2011, in Helmand province, Afghanistan, after insurgents attacked him with an improvised explosive device. He is survived by his wife Elvi, his mother Allison, and his father David. Donations can be made in his name to the Commando Welfare Trust.
With everything that we’ve had going on this past month, I forgot to announce the CrossFitter of the Month for June! Woops!
The CrossFitters of the Month (a tie!) were CJ Franks and Annie Macovis! Annie and CJ have constantly been duking it out in the race for the most Personal Records and last month they both PR’d nearly 2/3 of the time they came into the Box. The rest of the time they were doing a WOD for the first time. That’s impressive! Good work ladies! For winning CrossFitter of the Month, you take your pic at some free CrossFit gear.
